2026.3.0 - Characteristic search, KPI with Process Observer mapping and Bug-fixes

Feature

1. This release marks the XCM in S/4HANA 2023 as feature complete. All further improvements only will be addressed in S/4HANA 2025

2. Improved the enterprise search with the characteristic search where the user could search the CR based on the characteristic values assigned to the CR.

3. Improved the application for Enterprise Search Cockpit to support log on the artifacts generated and the failure during the extension of the data source for search.

   • Now the application is controlled with the authority check to perform the creation so that not all the users are allowed to perform this action which is more for Admin to act on.

4. KPI is now configurable with the process observer using the BRF+ which provides the option to define unique process BO type based on CR header

   • If the process is defined based record type or with combination of record type and reason for change, now the customer could define it using the BRF+ decision table.
   • Each event is mapped with the status change in CR to raise the correct process event for the process observer which later collects the metrics data.

5. ER to CR migration now enables the migration of long texts on the ER header to the description of CR.

6. New STX switch framework is integrated to XCM. Now the Switch Framework is a new tile which can be used to control the different features of XCM.

7. Process Builder received few minor improvements

   1. Now Process Builder is also available in language “DE”
   2. Copy Button in Process Builder was possible without the authorization and this is now corrected with this release to follow the EDIT authorization which already exists.

Bug Fixes / Improvements

1. Fixed the issue that the process route was still using the inactive older process builder version when finalize was not performed by the user.
2. Fixed MDG cockpit material search to handle leading-zero material numbers
3. Fixed the bug that was raising dump during Change Record ESH Search cockpit extension of fields and generation of CDS extension.
4. Enterprise Search of CR shows error and still keeps the filter values, which allows user to keep clicking “Go” again and again. This is now fixed by removing the filters once user clicks “Ok” on the error pop-up.
