Set Client to Modifiable
Problem
You’d like to perform workbench or customizing changes on a client, but the client is not modifiable.
Solution
- Open transaction SCC4
- Double click on the client you’re trying to modify the objects on
- Enter edit mode
- Depending on whether you’re trying to modify client-depending or cross-client objects, follow either of the following steps and save afterwards.
Client-Depending Changes
In “Changes and Transports for Client-Specific Objects”, change the radio button from “No changes allowed” to one of the following values:
- Changes without automatic recording: Changes can be performed, but will not be added to a transport request automatically. You can add changes to transport requests manually if desired.
- Automatic recording of changes: Changes can be performed, and you will be prompted for a transport request on save (except for some edge cases which default to local customizing, like Fiori Launchpad Designer).
- Changes w/o automatic recording, no transports allowed: Changes can be performed, but you are not allowed to collect them in transports.
Cross-Client Changes
In “Cross-Client Object Changes”, change the dropdown to either of the following values:
- Changes to repository and cross-client customizing allowed: Changes to workbench objects and client-independent customizing can be performed.
- No changes to cross-client customizing objects: Changes to workbench objects can be performed, but changes to client-independent customizing are not permitted.
- No changes to repository objects: Changes to workbench objects are not permitted, but changes to client-independent customizing can be performed.
- No changes to repository / cross-client customizing objects: Neither changes to workbench objects nor changes to client-independent customizing can be performed.
