Flexible Workflow for Approvals and Automation With release 2026.2, PPP introduces a comprehensive Flexible Workflow framework for approvals and process automation. Built on SAP Standard Workflow and configured through BRF+, it connects SAP standard capabilities with PPP-specific business logic, allowing customers to model approval paths and follow-up actions without hardcoding. This increases transparency, shortens approval cycles, and improves governance in portfolio processes.

This release brings powerful enhancements to permissions, navigation, and hierarchical data views, helping you manage complex portfolios and classifications with ease and precision. Comprehensive Authorization Management for Items, Buckets, and Portfolios Following the SAP Portfolio Management standard, you can now create, edit, and delete user and role authorizations across portfolios, buckets, items, initiatives, reviews, and classifications. Inherited authorizations from parent objects are clearly displayed, offering a complete transparency and effortless adjustment in one consolidated view.

2025.4 - Smart Filters Meet Smart Views

While we’re hard at work on major improvements to PPP’s Time Recording (coming soon in 2025.5!), this release focuses on smaller—but powerful—quality of life improvements that make everyday usage smoother, faster, and more intuitive. Migration ⚠️ To ensure a seamless transition to the new features and enhancements introduced in this release, it is required to perform the migration steps described in Post Update Activities: 2025.4. In case you’ve received 2025.4.1 in addition to 2025.4, please perform Post Update Activities: 2025.4 first, and then perform the additional steps described in Post Update Activities: 2025.4.1 afterwards. Features Filter Bars for Overviews Obvious, Powerful Filtering: Customers can now enable Filter Bars on Overview Lists via BRF+. These new filter areas appear directly above the table, replacing the old hidden filter settings in the column menu. Filter Bars for Better Visibility: Filter Bars support advanced filter logic and value helps. When combined with View Management, filters can be saved as named Views—making recurring searches easier than ever. Open in New Tab CTRL / CMD + Click: Users can now open any navigable view—such as a Project’s Details from the Project Overview—in a new browser tab using standard keyboard shortcuts (CTRL on Windows, CMD on Mac). Universal Support: This enhancement works wherever navigation changes the URL, not just in overviews. It’s a subtle change that brings a big boost to multitasking workflows. Sort Numbers for Overview Columns Define Column Order via BRF+: Administrators can now assign sort numbers to columns in Overview Lists. This gives full control over the default column order and allows customers to align UI structure with internal priorities. Extended PPP Authorization Control Now with PFCG and Project Role Support: PPP’s BRF+ customizing now supports evaluating both PFCG roles and project-specific roles for authorization decisions within PPP. See PFCG Roles for Enhanced Control for more information. Flexible Role-Based Access: This allows customers to tailor access control in a fine-grained, maintainable way—based on their SAP role structures or project assignments. Powerful and Maintainable: Whether you’re granting visibility, editing rights, or read-only access, you can now define who sees what, and when—directly in your BRF+ logic. 2025.3 - Planning Financial Success

This latest release brings significant enhancements to financial management, customization, and navigation within PPP, making project and item management more seamless and user-friendly. Migration ⚠️ To ensure a seamless transition to the new features and enhancements introduced in this release, it is required to perform the migration steps described in Post Update Activities: 2025.3. In case you’ve received 2025.3.1 in addition to 2025.3, please perform Post Update Activities: 2025.3 first, and then perform the additional steps described in Post Update Activities: 2025.3.1 afterwards. Features Financial Planning for Items and Initiatives Seamless Integration: Financial Planning can now be managed directly within PPP via a new Financial Planning tab available on Items and Initiatives. Automatic Customizing: This tab is enabled by default in our PPP Standard Customizing and automatically applies your existing Classic PPM UI (PPM Standard) settings from SPRO. No additional customizing is required. Advanced Personalization: PPP extends beyond Classic PPM UI capabilities by offering enhanced number formatting, automatic color highlighting for critically low values, and flexible scaling options to improve visibility and usability. Customizable Default Overview Columns BRF+ Controlled Defaults: Administrators can now define which columns should be visible by default in Overview Lists (e.g., Project Overview, Item Overview). Greater User Flexibility: Previously, default views always displayed predefined fields such as external IDs and titles. With this release, users start with a customized set of columns, reducing unnecessary adjustments. Enhancement Beyond View Management: This new capability complements the existing View Management, which allows users to personalize views dynamically. Enhanced Navigation from Items and Projects to Associated Versions Quick Access to Versions: A new “Show Version” option is now available within Items and Projects, making it easier to locate and navigate to related versions, including Snapshots and Simulations. Streamlined Linked Item-Project Views: If an Item is linked to a Project, users can now conveniently view both Item Versions and Project Versions in a single place, ensuring seamless navigation across related records. Direct Fact Sheet Access from Item Details Seamless Access: Previously, Fact Sheets could only be displayed and printed from the Item Overview. With this release, users can now access an Item’s Fact Sheet directly from the Item Details view, streamlining workflows and eliminating unnecessary navigation steps. Improved Usability: This enhancement ensures that key item information is always just a click away, making it easier to review and share structured item data efficiently. This update marks a significant expansion in our capabilities, particularly in the area of Initiative management, where we have greatly increased the depth and breadth of accessible information and control. Migration ⚠️ To ensure a seamless transition to the new features and enhancements introduced in this release, it is required to perform the migration steps described in Post Update Activities: 2025.2. Features Extended Initiative Support Comprehensive Initiative Management: This release significantly enhances Initiative management with the addition of multiple new tabs including Items, Decision Points, Reviews, Roles, Timeline, Object Links, Change Documents, and Authorizations. Each tab is designed to provide comprehensive details and management options, making Initiatives a central hub for item and project data. Enhanced Interactivity and Detail: The added tabs allow users to manage nearly all aspects of an Initiative from a single interface, streamlining processes and improving project oversight. New Classification Tab on Items Detailed Distribution Control: The new “Classification” tab on items enables users to see and modify the distribution or factor between buckets, providing a granified control over how resources and responsibilities are allocated within projects. Embedded Classic PPM UIs Seamless Integration for Planning and Monitoring: We’ve embedded classic PPM UIs within PPP for key functionalities like Capacity Planning and Multi-Project Monitoring, analogous to the existing Financial Planning UIs. This integration ensures users have powerful tools at their disposal without leaving the PPP environment. Fact Sheets Access: Direct access to Fact Sheets from the Item Overview, enhancing the availability of project-specific data and analytics. Navigation and Selection Modes in Overviews Enhanced User Interaction: Toggle between Navigation and Selection modes within Project and Item Overviews. Navigation mode functions as traditionally, while Selection mode allows for multi-row selections for operations such as opening Multi-Project Monitors or displaying Fact Sheets. Additional Customizing Options for Object Links Customizable Display Options: Enhance how information is presented in the “Object Links” tab with new BRF+ customizing options, allowing for a tailored view that meets specific project needs. New Fields in Project Planning Expanded Data Points: Introduce additional fields such as Status, Finish Constraint Type, and Finish Constraint Date into the personalization options of Project Planning, providing more detailed control over project timelines and statuses. Retry Save Functionality Improved Data Integrity: If auto-save fails, users can now easily retry the save process by clicking on the red “Error” label at the bottom right of the interface.
