Migration

⚠️ To ensure a seamless transition to the new features and enhancements introduced in this release, it is recommended to perform the migration steps described in Post Update Activities: 2024.1.11.

Features

Automatic Saving

  • Seamless Background Saving: The traditional “Save” button has been replaced with automatic saving. A new indicator now shows the saving status, including active saving, completed saves, or hints to fill mandatory fields.
  • User-Controlled Setting: Automatic saving can be toggled on or off in PPP Settings, with future plans to allow control at a BRF+ level.

ReadOnly Mode

  • Initial ReadOnly Mode: In response to user feedback for increased safety, all objects (like Items, Projects, Tasks) now open in a read-only mode first. Editing is enabled by clicking the “Edit” button.
  • User-Controlled Setting: This feature can also be toggled in PPP Settings, with BRF+ customization options coming in future updates.

Support for Checklist References

  • Full Checklist Reference Integration: Checklist References are now fully supported, enhancing the functionality with both Standard and Customer fields, and resolving them into actionable checklists.

Editable Fields on Resources

  • Resource-Specific Customization: Fields on Resources in the “Roles” tab are now editable. Use the BRF+ decision table “Form Control Participant” to customize these fields.
  • Flag for Differentiation: The “Is Resource” flag has been introduced in “Form Control Participant” to specify whether a field affects a Resource or a Role.
  • New Origins: Two new origins BUPA and BUPA_LINK have been introduced to Basic Field Config, which allow you to display data of business partners and business partner links of a selected Resource respectively.

Gantt Chart Performance Improvements

  • Enhanced Speed and Efficiency: Opening the Gantt Chart in Project Planning is significantly faster, with improvements in saving projects, loading the Gantt, and reloading data post-Gantt interaction.

Reworked Error Dialogs

  • User-Friendly Error Handling: Error dialogs have been redesigned to be less technical and more intuitive. In the case of severe technical issues, users can now export a Crash Report for support troubleshooting. This one of the few features we hope you never actually experience first hand, but if you do, please let us know.
