2024.1.9 - Demand Distribution & Real-Time Customization
Following an intentional period of comprehensive testing to solidify the platform’s stability, we are excited to launch version 2024.1.9. This release ushers in advanced features that empower users with real-time customization and expand the visual and functional versatility of PPP.

Features
Demand Distribution for Role and Staffing
- On-Demand Role and Staffing Updates: The “General” and “Staffing” tabs for Roles now facilitate the display and update of demand distribution, enabling users to adjust the “Demand” and “Assigned Effort” values directly, for precise effort management.
- Customizing for SPRO: Availability of this distribution function is contingent upon the “Distribution” setting within the Role Type Customizing in SPRO. This consistency ensures a unified approach in both PPP and PPM Standard.
Dynamic BRF+ Table Updates
- Real-Time Updates: Now, when you change a value that serves as input for a BRF+ decision table, the associated fields update instantly - without the need for saving or refreshing the application. Sections, groups, fields, and more will appear or disappear completely automatically!
Sort Numbers in BRF+
- Enhanced Placement Control: The introduction of Sort Numbers within BRF+ decision tables allows your customizing to interlace with PPP’s Default Customizing, offering nuanced control over the UI arrangement.
- Range for Customization: With default fields spaced 100 numbers apart, custom fields can be placed within this range (e.g., Sort Number 101 to 199) to fit between the PPP default fields. The same logic applies to all decision tables where Sort Numbers are included.
Custom Themes in Gantt Chart
- Thematic Flexibility: Expanding the aesthetic customization, the Gantt Chart now supports a wider range of themes, including the our STX Light and STX Dark, alongside SAP’s standard Quartz themes.
More Extension Spots
- Frontend and Backend Extension: With the addition of new BAdI definitions and the debut of frontend extension spots, PPP opens up to a world of deeper customization, enabling the addition of custom tabs and buttons to fit specific business requirements. This marks a significant step towards a more customizable and extensible platform, adaptable to specific business processes and needs.
- In-Depth Documentation Incoming: Detailed guides on utilizing these enhancement spots will be provided soon, offering support for custom integration and tailored user experience.
Bug Fixes
We’ve been hard at work squashing bugs to make your PPP experience smoother. Here’s what we’ve fixed in this release:
- Manually Setting Severities Is Not Saved in Project Planning
- Creation Shows Wrong Error Messages
- Creation Does Not Show All Customized Project Templates
- RTA: Task and Ressource Cannot Be Set at the Same Time (Without Saving Inbetween)
- Creating a Role With Distribution Does Not Set Period Type and Distribution Unit on Project Level
